Hiske Wiersma is born in 1973.
“I need to feel in tune with a painting right from the start', she says. “When that happens, I know that it will work out'. With animals, this is mainly a matter of eye contact. This explains why the eyes, which she paints first, are worked out in detail, while the rest of the creature is portrayed in a more impressionist style.
Hiske lives and works in the outskirts of Berlikum in the north of the province of Friesland.
